Various studies have been conducted in recent years to examine the effects of Ceramic Polishing on the properties of ceramic materials. These studies focus on a range of properties, including the ability to resist wear, abrasion, and chemical attack, as well as the ability to withstand sulfate and carbonation. This type of grinder also contains smaller particles than the larger-grained versions.

Previous studies have investigated the effects of Ceramic Polishing on the properties of other materials, such as the abrasiveness and wear behavior of ceramics and minerals. However, it is not known how polishing affects the properties of advanced ceramic materials. Compared to other materials, silicon-based advanced ceramics show high hardness, low density, and low coefficient of thermal expansion. In addition, their use provides improved form accuracy and surface quality. These materials also have a low wear resistance.

 

 

Used to smooth surfaces of a white stone

Other researches have been conducted to examine the effects of polishing on the properties of glazed surfaces. In these studies, different polishing systems were used to smooth surfaces of a white stone. These systems included a polishing wheel, a polishing wheel with diamond particle-impregnated wax, and a porcelain adjustment kit. Each system was applied on one specimen surface at a time, and the effect was evaluated.

Another study evaluated the effect of polishing on the durability of a ceramic waste mortar. Concrete wastes are a byproduct of the Ceramic Polishing process and contain sludge. They can be used as a replacement for cement in self-consolidating concrete. The study found that the ceramic wastes improved the compressive strength and sulfate resistance capacity of concrete. They were also used as supplementary cementing material in concrete.

A third study looked at the effects of polishing on the properties of concrete. Researchers used a ceramic polishing powder in the production of concrete. They also found that the ceramic polishing powder had an effect on the reactivity of the concrete. The researchers theorized that the 46-um grit diamond might cause thermal shock.
